Codex Pet Limits Viewer is a small helper for people using Codex Pets on macOS. It shows a clean, click-through popover with the current 5-hour and weekly usage limits when the user hovers over their pet.

The goal was to keep the pet itself uncluttered. Instead of persistent rings or an always-visible status panel, the viewer stays hidden until hover and disappears while the pet is being dragged. It reads the local Codex desktop state to locate the pet, then uses the local Codex authentication context to request the current usage data.

The project is intentionally lightweight: a Swift Package Manager executable, a LaunchAgent installer, an uninstall script, and focused tests for hover timing, drag handling, screen-coordinate mapping, and usage-response parsing.

This is an unofficial experimental helper rather than a Codex feature. The implementation is read-only, does not store tokens, and includes privacy notes in the repository so users can understand exactly what local files it reads and why.
